We visited today and was very pleasantly suprised. The car park was beautiful clean. We where given a very warm welcome and made to feel at home. We had a coffee and cake. The cafe is spotless and 5 star clean rating. We used the toilet facilities. I was amazed for a zoo how clean and spotless the toilet was.
We looked around and was great to see quiet a few dog walkers. We took our dog and he loved it. My dog loved it as well and all the staff made a fuss of him. We spoke to a male member of staff. He was very professional and made us feel welcome. He could give us information and was very talkative and didn't make us feel rushed at all. This is a little zoo and it's all on the same level. Amazing disabled access and has a sensory garden, a kids park and best of all. Loads of little animals that are the right size for where they stay. Every animal house was well and truly looked after.
It was so great that we drove 2 and half hours there and we will be back in the summer when we get better weather. A big thank you.

A lovely little morning out! We recently visited with our toddler and border collie in tow. We spent a morning here and enjoyed seeing the animals and the keeper talks. It was great value for money and just enough for a young family…especially when the wind was so high and made the conditions a little challenging! We loved that we could bring our dog in with us, as did so many visitors meaning we could all enjoy the park together. Only difficulty was the outside hand washing stations being turned off for winter (so the pipes didn’t freeze which is totally understandable) so this meant we had to go back to the toilets at the entrance. Not too much of a hassle but something to be aware of in the colder months.

Lovely place to visit. Good large mugs of tea! Great selection of interesting animals and birds. Dogs allowed and lots of seating areas. Great for kids. Hilarious cockatoo. Dropped a star due to concern over skin issues on ponies. Donkey was being treated, and it was wintertime, but ponies didn't look their best.

Had a lovely morning and early afternoon here with our two year old gardens enchanting . I would like to take this opportunity to day after reading some negative reviews about the staff there . All I can say we were met with positivity professionalism and happy smiles from all members of the staff . Shop and the cafe staff members went out of there way to make us feel welcomed . Visit well.worth the money.

We came the week of Halloween and absolutely loved this place. Honestly such a friendly homely feel to it with the staff, lovely people. The animals are amazing to see and honestly would travel the distance to Filey just to see this place again. The talks are fantastic. The halloween hunt was on and the decorations around the place were the best we'd seen that week. The price is fantastic for two adults and two children, definitely value for money. Stunning place.
Can't wait to return.

Lovely little animal park which amazingly allows dogs. Had a wonderful time. Spent about 3 hours here. 2 adults and a teenager. Animals looked contented and healthy. Enclosures were clean and well thought out. Highly recommend.

Such a wonderful experience. Amazing Halloween 🎃 displays which made my day. Animals and birds well kept. Feeding times were fun. Toilets very clean. Fully recommended.

My Mum, myself and my dog visited today on our way home from a weekend trip to Filey. As animal lovers we were very excited to come and loved our visit! There's lots of animals to see without the venue feeling too big (although it's spacious), the animals were in great condition as was their homes and the staff were friendly. It was great listening to the keeper talks! I would say the only parts that require improvement would be the cafè and gift shop; there wasn't a lot of choice in both and the food in the cafè was okay at best. However I will recommend this place to friends and family of all ages.

Hidden Gem for Animals and People!
What a fabulous little place this is, and an attraction for young and old, at such low cost. Happy animals in great enclosures, and emphasis on genuine welfare and enrichment for all. We normally dislike zoos, and are very mindful of animal welfare. But this little family-run establishment seems to have got things right, and it is commendable that they are constantly ploughing money back into the business, to make it even better for the animals.
The staff are welcoming and friendly, and they are knowledgeable, too. They clearly enjoy their jobs, and genuinely care for their animals and value their visitors. Feeding times are highlighted throughout the day, and they were a pleasure to watch – with great photo opportunities! Bags of food are available to buy to feed the animals, too, but PLEASE take note of which animals this is suitable for (as clearly laid out on the guide), as we saw people trying to feed animals that weren't suited to eating it... Signs on enclosures would be beneficial.
There are many areas to enjoy a picnic, from sitting in beautiful secluded gardens (where children, too rightly, are to be controlled), to being out in the open and watching the animals. There is also a nice little inexpensive café, with great coffee and homemade cakes, where dogs are welcome inside. The gift shop is small, but packed with nice things, and not just the usual tacky merchandise that you tend to find in places like this.
We will be back when it opens again in April, and we will buy a season ticket this time. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit – and so did our dog (who loved the wallabies the most, but was transfixed by the Asian Leopard Cat!).

A lovely little zoo. Friendly staff with well cared for animals. Also dog friendly. Our dog was particularly fascinated by Jango the Asian Leopard Cat (even although she lives with six moggies at home). Nicely laid out with the bonus of sensory and water gardens. There are regular feeding/talks throughout the day and the staff are knowledgeable. The feeds are also organised to stimulate the animals. So the Meerkats had the food hidden in a carboard box and Jango had to follow a scent trail to get his food.
It is evident that the owners are investing in the zoo with visible upgrades in progress to infrastructure and enclosures.
Finally there is a small and pleasant café onsite. If you prefer to do your own picnic seating is also provided at various locations within the zoo.
Definitely will visit again.

Great day out for our 3 year old son, he thoroughly enjoyed himself!
All of the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about all of the animals.
Cafe was reasonably priced and food was delicious.
Would 100% recommend this place to anybody looking for a nice day out.
